Functional Outcome of Hybrid External Fixator in Tibial Pilon Fractures

Introduction: Tibial pilon fractures are difficult mostly secondary to high-energy trauma. There various options treat these fractures, but the priority is always an anatomic reduction and articular congruity with good soft tissue handling. The aim of study was analyze functional outcome tibial managed a hybrid external fixator as definitive management.
 Methods: We evaluated 28 patients mean age 34.8 years. All who fulfilled inclusion criteria were taken operating room for debridement application fixator.
 Results: most common mechanism injury road traffic accidents our had comminuted fractures. fibula fractured in 23 (82.14%) patients. united on average 15.28 weeks. Based Ovadia & Beals objective scoring system 75% scored excellent or subjective 82.14% good. 12 cases pin tract infection, 2 delayed union, malunion no incidence non-union, osteomyelitis, septic arthritis. Eight ankle joint stiffness.
 Conclusion: Hybrid effective method treatment comparable union rate complications other modalities.
